Appearance and branding

Everything visual lives under Settings → Appearance. Changes apply to the live widget as soon as you save, so make them before peak hours.

Bot name

The name shown in the chat header, and the value behind the {bot_name} placeholder in your responses.

Pick something short and human. A name changes how visitors phrase questions — they ask Mika for advice, they ask Assistant for a link.

Bot avatar

Choose one of five built-in icons — Bot 1, Bot 2, Bot 3, Human, Chat — or upload your own.

For a custom icon:

  1. Select Custom
  2. Upload a PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP file
  3. Maximum 512 KB and 512 × 512 pixels
  4. Save

Use a square image with a transparent background and a clear silhouette. The icon is displayed at roughly 40 pixels, so fine detail and small text disappear.

Two switches control where it shows:

  • Display bot avatar icon in chat window header — turn off for a plainer header
  • Bot avatar background — adds a subtle circular background behind the icon, only when the avatar is visible

Primary colour

Sets the widget button and accent colours. Leave it empty to use the default green #4CAF50.

Practical advice:

  • Use your call-to-action colour, not your logo colour. The bubble competes with your buttons.
  • Check the contrast against white icons on the bubble. Very light colours make the icon unreadable.
  • Check it against your product pages, not just your homepage.

Border radius

Accepts a CSS length such as 12px, 8px, or 16px. Empty means the default 12px.

Match the radius of your own buttons and cards. A rounded widget on a square-cornered site looks bolted on.

Test language

Sets the language used by the preview panel inside the dashboard. It defaults to your primary website language and never affects real visitors.

Check your work

  1. Open the Demo page from Settings → Chatbot settings
  2. Look at it on a phone as well as a desktop
  3. Confirm the bubble does not cover a sticky cart button or a cookie banner
  4. Confirm the colour still reads well in your site’s dark sections
