Running into a problem? This page covers the most common issues and their solutions.

Widget Not Appearing

Symptoms: The chat icon doesn’t show on your store.

Solutions:

  • Verify the embed code is placed before </body> in your template
  • Check that the data-store-id matches your Mikabot account
  • Clear your browser cache and hard-refresh the page
  • Check the browser console for JavaScript errors

Bot Not Responding

Symptoms: The widget opens but the bot doesn’t reply.

Solutions:

  • Check your message quota in Settings → Billing (you may have hit your monthly limit)
  • Verify your product sync completed successfully in Settings → Product Sync
  • Check the Mikabot status page for any service disruptions

Product Sync Failing

Symptoms: Products aren’t importing or showing outdated data.

Solutions:

  • Ensure your CSV/XML feed URL is publicly accessible
  • Check the import log for specific error messages in Settings → Product Sync → Logs
  • Verify your feed format matches Mikabot’s expected schema
  • For large catalogs (100K+ products), sync may take up to 30 minutes

Incorrect Language Detection

Symptoms: The bot responds in the wrong language.

Solutions:

  • Set the default language in Settings → Language
  • Add a lang attribute to your store’s <html> tag
  • Check that multi-language is enabled for your plan (Pro or Business)
